My Community Dental Centers (MCDC), Michigan’s leading dental healthcare provider for lower income families and individuals, was awarded the Henry Schein Cares silver medal in the oral health category of the Henry Schein Cares Medal program.  The award, received on June 18th during Henry Schein Dental's national sales conference, recognizes MCDC’s commitment to expanding access to oral health services for people and communities in need.

“We are honored to receive the Henry Schein silver medal in recognition of MCDC’s dedication to making quality dental care possible for everyone,” said Kimberly Singh, Interim Chief Operating Officer. “Helping people live healthier, happier and more productive lives drives our purpose and plans for serving more people and more communities.  We are most pleased to share the Schein award with every one of our team’s caring practitioners who deliver on our promise to every patient, every day.”

MCDC’s mission is to improve the lives of our patients and enhance community health by setting the highest standard of health care in serving Medicaid and low income uninsured patients. Founded in 2006, MCDC has grown to over 30 centers in communities across Michigan serving over 100,000 patients each year. More than 80 percent of patients are Medicaid or low income uninsured, and more than 30 percent of patients are under 20 years of age.

MCDC was selected for the award by an independent panel of judges. MCDC receives a $10,000 contribution to its MyDental Program that provides reduced fees on a sliding scale based on income, and $10,000 worth of products from healthcare products manufacturer, Henry Schein.

MCDC is pleased to provide tours of our community dental centers to members of local media – please let us know if you would like to visit one and learn more about how we care for the communities we serve (Amanda Kelley at 231-437-4814).
