Biography

Hannah Bendall, M.S.N., P.M.H.N.P.-B.C., specializes in psychiatry. She sees patients at MidMichigan Health Park – Houghton Lake.

Philosophy of Care

“Mental health is central to every aspect of a person’s life,” Hannah said. “I find it fulfilling to help patients navigate conditions like anxiety, depression, and trauma.”

“I believe in treating the whole person, considering their unique background and experiences. Mental health care is a partnership, where patients are active participants. I emphasize a nonjudgmental, stigma-free approach that creates a safe environment for patients to feel heard and empowers them to share their thoughts, fears, and goals.”

“Using evidence-based treatments, I adapt care to each individual’s needs, combining pharmacology, therapy, and lifestyle interventions. My goal is to help patients achieve balance, resilience, and a fulfilling life, with tools to manage their mental health.”

“A special interest that I’m deeply committed to is supporting men’s mental health. Men face unique challenges, such as societal stigma, hesitation to seek help, and difficulty showing vulnerability. Mental health conditions may also show up differently in men, for example as irritability or substance use. I focus on promoting healthy coping mechanisms, emotional regulation, and stronger communication skills in relationships.”

“Seeing someone regain hope, confidence, and control is incredibly rewarding. Each small step forward, whether it’s reduced symptoms or a new coping skill, shows that our work together is making a real impact.”

“Mental health care also provides a rewarding opportunity to advocate for my patients, reduce stigma, and promote a culture of acceptance and healing in the community.”

Hannah has an infant son and two fur babies, Lucy and Bruce, who are often seen on telehealth appointments or overheard snoring in the background. Among her favorite ways to recharge and find peace are spending time at the family cabin at Higgins Lake; swimming and being in the water; or traveling and exploring new places, cultures and perspectives.
