Biography
Carrie Garchow, P.A.-C., is a certified physician assistant who specializes in cardiology. She works collaboratively with both general and invasive cardiologists and is a member of MyMichigan’s comprehensive heart and vascular team. This team includes cardiologists, interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, structural heart and heart failure specialists, as well as vascular and cardiovascular surgeons.
“I chose to become a physician assistant for a variety of reasons, but the overall theme was to be able to help people,” she said. “It brings me such joy to bring a smile to someone’s face while also assisting and educating them on ways to improve their quality of life and health.”
Philosophy of Care
Carrie believes it is important to spend as much time as needed to make her patients feel comfortable with their plan of care. “While discussing their care plan, I also like for them to be involved in the decision-making process and encourage them to be their own health care advocate,” she added. “I believe developing a relationship with patients based on mutual respect and trust is paramount to better overall clinical outcomes. I enjoy getting to know my patients and their families and use this to develop more personalized care plans with my patients and their care team.”
Special Interests and Procedures
“I find the field of cardiology fascinating and I am excited to learn about new evidence-based interventions, medications and discoveries as they emerge,” she said.
