Biography
Skyler Lewis, M.S.N., A.P.R.N., F.N.P.-C., specializes in family medicine. She sees patients at MyMichigan Health Park Gladwin.
Philosophy of Care
Before transitioning to primary care, Skyler spent seven years working in the Intensive Care Unit, which gave her a solid foundation in patient assessment, clinical decision-making, interdisciplinary collaboration, and patient education.
“I realized there were a lot of opportunities for preventive care that would have helped people avoid ending up in the hospital in critical condition,” Skyler said. “I wanted to be part of the team that could help others before it is too late.”
“I’ve always enjoyed getting to know my patients, so being a primary care provider stood out because you get to be a part of someone’s healthcare journey long term.”
Skyler’s philosophy is to build a strong partnership based on trust, respect, and open communication.
“I believe patients should feel empowered to actively participate in decisions about their care, and I strive to ensure they feel heard, informed, and supported every step of the way. My goal is to create a collaborative environment where we work together to develop a care plan that aligns with their individual needs, values, and health goals.”
Skyler has a special interest in women’s health and mental health, with a focus on providing compassionate, evidence-based care across the lifespan.
During her free time, Skyler enjoys reading, crocheting, shopping, and spending time with her family and goldendoodle, Cooper.
“In the winter, I ski almost every weekend, and in the warmer months, I enjoy going to Michigan’s many beaches and exploring the U.P. with my husband and friends.”
