About
Beaverton School Wellness Program
MidMichigan Community Health Services and Beaverton Schools have partnered to create the Beaverton School Wellness Program, offering onsite nursing and mental health services to students ages 5 to 21. The program aims to improve the health and well-being of Beaverton students by providing these services during school hours, allowing students to receive care that would otherwise need to be scheduled with a health care provider and causing missed school hours.
Services available include:
- Primary and acute care
- First aid
- Strep, influenza and other rapid care testing
- Health education
- Risk behavior assessment
- Mental health therapy
- Assistance with Medicaid enrollment
Immunizations are not given within the program, but immunization clinics may be coordinated in partnership with the local health department.
